The format of the 50 50 Show show consists of 50 Per Cent Pre and New Release Soul Music by new contemporary independent, and established soul artists from around the world, and an interview with an independent artist ‘Confessions on Cassettes’ which completes the remaining 50 Per Cent.

The show always ends with a cover version the “Cover to Cover”, a commercially released song by someone other than the original artist or composer, this closes the show.

In May 2014 the [1st Edition] of the 50:50 show debuted and ran to its conclusion on August 10, 2016, with the final songs’ being played on the Top 1000 of All Time. Number 1 was the Marvin Gaye LP ‘What’s Going On’ “LP” – What’s Going On/Inner City Blues/Save The Children were the tracks played.
50:50 Show (2nd Edition) – Broadcast on Soul Legends Radio – August 17, 2016, to September 6, 2017
The 50:50 Show [2nd Edition] profiled the new chart “The 724” (724 Positions). and charted Soul Music from 1997 to the Summer of 2016 and included the best Modern, Independent and New Release Soul Music whilst retaining the Pie and Mash Up and Cover to Cover sections the show has new Intro’s and Drops, giving the show an instant makeover.The first show of the (2nd Edition) was broadcast on Wednesday August 10 2016, and concluded on September 6 2017, before transferring to Mi-Soul Connoisseurs’ in October 2017.
50:50 Show (3rd Edition) – Broadcast on Mi-Soul Connoisseurs Radio – October 4, 2017, to February 28, 2019
The 50:50 Show [3rd Edition] Following contribution to the Soul Connoisseurs Top 20 for Mi-Soul Connoisseurs’ whilst broadcasting on Soul Legends Radio. Russ joined Mi-Soul Connoisseurs in October 2017, appending ‘The 724’ with an additional 276 tracks to make a Top 1000 called ‘A Kilo to Go’ including New Intros and New Drops, the inaugural show was broadcast on Wednesday October 4, 2017.
50:50 Show (4th Edition) – Broadcast on Global Soul Radio – March 1, 2019, to January 12, 2021
The 50:50 Show [4th Edition] Following the re-branding of Mi-Soul Connoisseurs to Global Soul Radio, the show required new Intros and Drops to reflect the new branding for Global Soul Radio, continuation of ‘A Kilo to Go’ 400 Positions were already covered the inaugural show on Global Soul Radio commenced at Position 600.
A ‘Kilo to Go’ charting a ‘Soul Music Experience’ from 1996 to 2017 was completed on November 24, 2020.
A Top 1000 in effect. The Top 2 Positions were held by Earth Wind and Fire and Mario Biondi’s ‘Sun’ album topped the chart; the Full Chart can be found on http://www.5050show.net
50:50 Show (5th Edition) – Broadcast on Global Soul Radio – January 13, 2021, to December 31, 2021
The 5th and ‘New Format’ of the 50:50 Show commenced on January 6th, 2021, with a new format incorporating tracks from the Global Soul ‘Playlist’ , New Releases, and a New middle section covering positions in the Global Soul Chart from ‘2017’ , retaining the 50 50 Show ‘Power Plays’ tracks that are repeatedly played for a 2nd,3rd and 4th weeks. the show numbering was reconfigured to reflect the total number of shows and revision of the 50:50 show with New Drops for ‘2021’.
The 50 50 Show website also went over a number of makeover changes, to incorporate extensive ‘Chart and Play lists’ ‘Live Player’, Contact/Subscription, social media and a palette change.
50:50 Show (6th Edition) – Broadcast on Global Soul Radio – January 1, 2022, to August 14, 2022
The 6th and ‘final Format’ of the 50:50 Show on Global Soul’ was conceived on January 1st, 2022, with a new format incorporating breaking tracks from the Global Soul ‘Top 20. The tracks were played as Breakers on the ‘Global Soul Top 20’ but had not charted.
The 50 50 Show website also went over a number of makeover changes, to incorporate extensive ‘Chart and Play lists’ ‘Live Player’ , Contact/Subscription, social media and a palette change.
